It is located in Rhodes Island, United States. The University was established in 1764. Its main campus is located in College Hill Historic District in Providence city. It is the seventh earliest Educational Institute in the United States for higher education. It is one of the Colonial Colleges which were established before American Revolution. A total number of Colonial Colleges which were founded before American Revolution is nine. It was the first college of its time which gave admission to students regardless of their religion. Its president is Christina Hull Paxton.
