YELE UNIVERSITY


It is private American University located in New Haven, Connecticut. Central campus is located in downtown New Haven. Its former names are Collegiate School and Yale College. Yale University was established in 1701. Its president is Peter Salovey. It is known as the third oldest institution for higher studies in the United States. It is named after Governor of East India Company, Elihu Yale. The University awards its first degree of Ph. D in 1861.

Organization of Yale:

It is organized into fourteen schools which include the School of Art and Science, original undergraduate college, and twelve professional schools.

University Ranking:

In 2016 it is ranked as third among US national universities. According to The academic ranking of world universities, it is placed at 11th number in the world in the year 2015. It is on 12th position in 2015 by Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Student Population:

According to the year 2015, the number of students in Yale University is above 12000. Male to female ratio is 51% to 49%.
